YG Entertainment is entering a bold new phase with an ambitious master plan led by Executive Producer Yang Hyun Suk. Alongside ramping up activities for BLACKPINK, TREASURE, and TREASURE, the company is preparing to debut a brand-new girl group, adding momentum to its expanding artist lineup.

On May 26, YG published an official announcement video titled “BLACKPINK, BABYMONSTER, TREASURE, AND UPCOMING ROOKIES | YG ANNOUNCEMENT” on its blog. The video features Yang Hyun Suk’s first interview of 2025 and outlines YG’s strategic vision for the second half of the year.
Yang opened the interview by sharing that BLACKPINK is likely to release new music soon, exciting fans across the globe. This will mark the group’s first new release since their full-length album ‘BORN PINK’ was released on September 16, 2022, nearly two years and eight months ago.

BABYMONSTER is also set for an active season. Their pre-release single ‘HOT SAUCE’ will drop on July 1, followed by a second single in September and a mini album on October 1. ‘HOT SAUCE’ is their first new release since their debut album ‘BABYMONS7ER’ launched on November 1, 2024.
Yang described the upcoming track as a hip-hop song inspired by the late 1980s. He said it is highly addictive and designed to bring energy to the summer. He added that the concept explores what it would sound like if a teenage group like BABYMONSTER performed music from the early hip-hop era, and expressed satisfaction with the final result.

TREASURE will release a new mini album on September 1. Yang confirmed that YG will support the group in releasing at least two albums every year and maintaining frequent interactions with fans. Following the album release, TREASURE will embark on a new world tour starting in October.

In a surprising turn, Yang also revealed plans for YG’s next-generation rookies. For the first time, he disclosed that YG currently has two boy groups and two girl groups preparing for debut. He expressed a particular eagerness to launch a new girl group and confirmed that the team will consist of four members.
YG will begin revealing practice footage of the group members starting May 28. Yang noted that, just like BABYMONSTER’s pre-debut period, fans will get to watch the new group train and perform in unedited practice videos. He encouraged viewers to judge their talent based on what they see and hear directly.
However, Yang added that he plans to focus more on BABYMONSTER’s development for the rest of the year. This suggests the official debut of the new girl group may take place sometime after that.
With BLACKPINK preparing for a comeback and world tour in July, BABYMONSTER releasing new music in July and October, TREASURE launching a new album and tour, and the introduction of a new girl group, YG is set for one of its busiest seasons in 2025.

At the end of the interview, Yang highlighted significant internal changes at YG over the past year. He stated that accelerating rookie debuts and expanding intellectual property is now a top priority. He promised that fans would see a newly upgraded YG starting in the second half of this year.
The video concluded with a teaser reading “THE FIRST MEMBER OF YG’S NEXT GIRL GROUP. STAY TUNED.” As anticipation builds, global fans are turning their attention to the reveal of the first member on May 28.
