YG’s new girl group Baby Monster has launched a global hit with its first full-length album “DRIP.”
According to YG Entertainment, Baby Monster’s first full-length album “DRIP,” released on the 1st, topped the iTunes album chart in 11 regions. It settled in the top three of the world wide album charts, embroidering its name on the top of the North and South American European charts.
The team broke its own record, surpassing its official debut album, on major global music platforms, including No. 2 on Japan’s largest music site Line Music Album TOP100 chart. In Korea, both the double title songs “DRIP” and “CLIK CLAK” are gradually rising after reaching the top of Melon HOT100.
The momentum on YouTube is also unusual. Upon its release, the “DRIP” music video went straight to the top of the “most viewed video in 24 hours” and surpassed 15 million views in less than a day. The pre-released double title song “CLIK CLAK” also exceeded 25 million views, continuing its popularity.
Not only the title song but also the high-quality tracks are receiving even reviews. Baby Monster’s confidence in releasing its first full-length album seven months after its official debut has captured the hearts of music fans. On top of that, as they have already proven their overwhelming skills, great attention is also being paid to various live performances to be shown in the future.
In addition to music broadcasts, Baby Monster is active through various platforms such as radio, entertainment, and YouTube. Starting next year, it will expand its global base with its first world tour.
